DogGone Natural, the organic pet food and retail store that has served pets and their owners in the Ashburn area since 2007, has opened a new location in Leesburg.
Owners CJ and Kimberly Correnti, a pet nutrition expert, launched the business after noticing a decline in the quality of pet food available at big-box retailers and grocery stores. “We knew that there were other independent manufacturers out there putting out good products and we wanted to get them to the people of Loudoun County.”
CJ Correnti said DogGone Natural is unique in that it takes a holistic approach to pet nutrition by servicing customers based on their animal’s individual needs. In addition their staff goes through extensive training in proper nutrition, herbal remedies, homeopathics and supplements designed to improve pet health.
Raw, dry and canned food products sold at DogGone Natural do not contain corn, soy or wheat—often used as filler in pet food products to cut costs—and are high in animal protein such as meat, bone and organ. Their featured product Annamaet Petfoods includes Omega-3 fatty acids and quality minerals that help to promote a healthy immune system.
“You save money because you feed [your pet] a lot less, your dog poops a lot less and having excessive proteins that your dog is not designed to eat creates a lot of stress on internal organs,” Correnti said, adding in-house consultation services to evaluate pet’s diet and overall health also are available.
